Objectives

We plan to discuss the main conferences and events at ADMC and try to suggest new ideas and recommendations to make the events more comfortable and suitable for the guests. At first we will discuss the types of events then we will talk about the time of the events and when the events should start. We could also encourage students to volunteer in the event and cooperate with ADMC admin to help us with that. We also need to promote for the event to have people coming and by inviting VIP guests we could have even more attendees. Cooperating with the police could help us a lot to avoid many problems. At the end of the meeting we will discuss the event budget and close it by creating a list of recommendations to present it to the ADMC administration.

Reflection about the course

In this course I have learned so many things that I cannot even list in this article. I would firstly like to thank Mr. Gregory for his effort. I will shortly talk about what I have learned in this course and both the advantages and disadvantages that will help you enhance this course for future students.
First of all, we have learned how to create a “C.V”. I have done that before but I didn’t know as much as I do now. Some of the elements I usually included in the CV are actually not wanted by the companies or organizations that ask for them. Also, I learned a few tricks that might just put me ahead of any other candidate pulling for the same job.
Further, in this course we learned how to organize and execute meetings. I really did not know it was that complicated. When you enter meetings you don’t actually go thinking about how all of this happened do you? Well, a lot of work goes behind organizing and executing a good meeting.
Also, this course allowed us to learn about “power point” presentations and presentations in general. Mr. Gregory educated us that in presentations, certain aspects come into mind. Whether it’s the length of the presentation or how many words you cram up in a slide. The main objective of a presentation is to educate the audience. We found out that eye contact is very important, practice is great and not putting too many words in your presentation is a key.
In the end, I would like to thank Mr. Gregory for this wonderful experience and I would like to credit him with what we are actually applying in other classes throughout this semester and hopefully more to come. I wish we meet in further classes.
Thank you,
Regards,
Mubarak Ahmed
